A 6-Part Mission to Outwit Glaucoma

Over 3 million Americans are affected by glaucoma, making it the second leading cause of blindness worldwide. Individuals at increased risk include African Americans over age 40, adults over age 60, patients with diabetes, and those with a family history of glaucoma. Optometrists serve as the first line in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of glaucoma, including the use of pharmacologic and surgical interventions.

Anticipated Audience: 1000+ECPs per live event* (99% OD, 0.5% MD, 0.5% other) with an average of 200-300 attendees for the promotional presentation.

Sample Schedule

  • Campers ease into the day with light games, creative prompts, and a welcome circle to set the tone.

  • Guided outdoor activities and free play to stretch, move, and soak up some fresh air.

  • Campers will be responsible for brining their own lunch, but we'll provide water and some additional snacks daily.

  • Hands-on time to explore the daily theme—whether it’s art, building, storytelling, or movement.

  • We'll end the day with a closing circle before campers head home for the evening.

Where to Find Us

Shuttle transportation is available to and from camp. Participants can be picked up near the York Street Subway Station on the F subway line. Subway access to the F, G, A, C, 2, 3 and B67.
