Cutting Edge Cataract Care: Cases and Considerations

The optometrist’s role in managing the cataract patient is vital for successful outcomes.  Preoperative and postoperative considerations are best handled in the optometrist’s clinic and it is imperative that OD’s understand preoperative considerations, technological advances, IOL options, and postoperative considerations.  This course, using a case-based approach, will provide all of the necessary tools for an optometrist to provide state of the art cataract care.

Over 1000 attended our event and we received amazing feedback!

Feedback from anonymous survey:

  • I learned the timeline for post op complications of PCO and CME at about three months.

  • Loved the preop prep/care section and explanation of IOL choices. Thanks!

  • It was great! Good info on the matching of patients to tech options and what to tell patients. I have never seen the pinhole IOL.

  • I really found the videos very informative!

  • I have more confidence in moving patients to the multifocal iol implants. Great tips!

  • Patients ask my opinion when they feel ready and this was a great intro into decisions to help guide a better outcome.

  • Thank you for a wonderful presentation and the importance of listening to what the patient wants when suggesting implant types to them.

  • Thank you for an excellent and informative lecture. I learned the time frame for post op conditions such as PCO and CME is about three months.

  • More of this please! Things are changing quickly and it really helps to have CE like this since in person meetings in my hometown are very few and far between now
