Surprising Eyelid Issues Leading to Contact Lens Discomfort

Contact lens patients desire to remain in contact lenses for as long as possible. Issues such as discomfort, dryness, fluctuation vision, itchy eyes, and decreased wear time are all factors that cause contact lens patients to drop out or decrease wearing time. This course will focus on common issues that occur with contact lens patients and how to detect them. Common issues include dry eye, MGD, demodex, unstable tear film, and more. We will also discuss appropriate treatment options for each condition. Learn how to keep your contact lens patients comfortable and happy.

Over 1700 attended our event and we received amazing feedback!

Feedback from anonymous survey:

  • Good suggestion to retain cl wearers and help comfort.

  • Enjoyed tips on patient education regarding blepharitis!

  • Good point about baby shampoo attacking lipid layer and the positive spin regarding overpopulation of Demodex “out of balance” etc. and the 4 pharmacies.

  • Good topic and I like learning an new treatment for demodex.

  • Great presentation with lots of practical tips to help patients.

  • I really appreciate this talk!! I feel much more comfortable in talking about démodéx with my patients vs when the rep comes and tells me to use it but not with the same clinical experience & attention to patient care .

  • Dr. Kramer is an excellent speaker. The topic was relevant to any practice, the handouts followed her lecture and she recapped her points. And she respected the time, thank you for a wonderful talk, Dr. Kramer and Woo U.

  • Excellent presentation. I enjoyed the lecture, and the slides were very helpful. Well done, thank you.

  • I loved today’s topic because I work in one of the hottest and dry areas of Texas and close to 95% of the patients we see in the clinic I work for have diagnosis of dry eye that end up with blepharitis, MGD or demodex. And now that we have Xdemvy available for the doctor to prescribe it has helped plenty of our patients. Overall I was very satisfied how Dr.Kramer presented the class along with all the helpful information provided especially when given alternatives for baby shampoo, tea tree oil, and warm compresses.
