Woo’s Wisdom: Dr. Vishal Jhanji on Keratoconus: Diagnosis and Management
In this edition of Woo’s Wisdom, we revisit Dr. Vishal Jhanji’s insightful presentation, Keratoconus: Diagnosis and Management.
Dr. Jhanji began by discussing the prevalence, signs and symptoms, and diagnosis of keratoconus. He posed an important question: Are we diagnosing keratoconus early enough? This set the stage for a deeper look into how clinicians can enhance their diagnostic approach.
He emphasized the importance of measuring the biomechanical properties of the cornea, outlining various ways these measurements can be obtained. Dr. Jhanji also explored the cost effectiveness of crosslinking, along with key predictors of success in treatment.
The presentation continued with a discussion on combination treatments, as well as advanced management options such as keratoplasty and electrocoagulation.

His advice? These concerns are valid, but AI is already part of your journey, whether you are leveraging it or not.
He also asked, what happens when potential patients call your office? What percent of patient opportunity phone calls turn into appointments? He spoke about how can AI increase your capture rate, and why this wasn’t available before.
