Upstream Thinking: The Expanding Role of Neuromodulation in Dry Eye Disease
Dry eye disease is increasingly being understood as more than an inflammatory condition alone. TFOS DEWS III emphasizes a driver-based approach to therapy that recognizes the importance of tear film homeostasis, sensory signaling, and lacrimal functional unit integrity.
Join us for an evidence-based discussion on how neuromodulation therapies are reshaping dry eye management by targeting upstream dysfunction within the ocular surface sensory system. Using the dry eye vicious cycle illustration as a clinical framework, this course will examine how restoring physiologic tear stimulation may influence downstream inflammation, tear instability, and patient symptoms.
Attendees will gain practical insight into integrating neuromodulation into comprehensive dry eye treatment plans and learn how to combine therapies based on patient-specific disease drivers and clinical presentation.

Beyond the Pupil: Modern Presbyopia Management Through Functional Vision and Pharmacologic Innovation
As pharmacologic options for presbyopia continue to expand, clinicians must move beyond simplistic “small pupil” treatment paradigms and toward a more individualized, lifestyle-driven approach to patient care. In this program, attendees will explore the differing mechanisms of action among emerging presbyopia therapies.
The course will examine how pupil size, depth of focus, contrast sensitivity, lighting conditions, and patient lifestyle demands all contribute to real-world functional vision outcomes. Through practical case discussions, participants will learn how to select therapies based not solely on near visual acuity, but on individualized patient goals, occupational needs, and environmental considerations. Attendees will also review how pharmacologic presbyopia therapies can be positioned as part of a comprehensive vision optimization strategy alongside glasses and contact lenses rather than as replacement therapies alone.

Neuromodulation in Practice: Simplifying the Science and Personalizing Dry Eye Care
Neuromodulation therapies are becoming an increasingly important componentof dry eye management, yet many clinicians still struggle to confidently explain their mechanisms, differentiate available options, and determine appropriate patient selection.
In this practical, case-based program, we will simplify the science behind neuromodulation and provide communication strategies that help patients better understand how these therapies support the body’s natural tear production pathways.
Attendees will learn practical ways to discuss mechanisms of action, set patient expectations, and position neuromodulation within comprehensive treatment plans. We will also compare available neuromodulation approaches, including differences in delivery methods, side effect considerations, and patient suitability across a variety of clinical scenarios. Through real-world cases, participants will gain insight into selecting and combining therapies for patients with differing dry eye drivers and ocular surface needs.

Integrating Pharmacologic Presbyopia Therapies Into Modern Optometric Practice
As pharmacologic presbyopia therapies become increasingly available, clinicians face important questions regarding patient selection, practice integration, safety considerations, and long-term management strategies. This course will provide a practical framework for incorporating presbyopia drops into everyday optometric care while aligning treatment recommendations with patient lifestyle goals and practice workflows.
Attendees will review how to introduce pharmacologic options during the patient journey, set realistic expectations regarding visual outcomes, and position these therapies as complementary tools alongside glasses and contact lenses. The program will also address key safety considerations, including retinal detachment concerns in higher myopes, mechanism-based differences among available agents, and practical management of side effects such as hyperemia and night vision disturbances.
Real-world patient case including contact lens wearers, high myopes, and post-surgical patient will highlight clinical decision-making strategies and demonstrate how pharmacologic presbyopia therapies can support a comprehensive, individualized approach to vision optimization.
